Kamran Khan to undergo two weeks of rehabilitation

Kamran Khan will have to work on his action

Rajasthan Royals fast bowler Kamran Khan will undergo two weeks of rehabilitation for a suspect bowling action, the IPL's technical committee decided on Sunday.

Kamran's action came under the scanner after he was reported by umpires Rudi Koertzen and Gary Baxter during Rajasthan's game against Chennai Super Kings in Centurion on April 30. The issue was referred to the IPL's technical committee after the on-field officials and TV umpire Amish Saheba reviewed video footage of Kamran's action.

The technical committee meeting was attended by former India captains Sunil Gavaskar and Ravi Shastri and IPL commissioner Lalit Modi who were joined via a conference call by Anurag Thakur and MAK Pataudi from India.

Kamran, from Azamgarh in the north Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, was spotted by Rajasthan team director Darren Berry at a talent scouting camp earlier this year. He impressed Warne instantly after bowling one over against the Cape Cobras in a warm-up game a few days before the IPL kicked off.

He was the bowler chosen by Warne to bowl the decisive 'super over' in the win against Kolkata Knight Riders. In five IPL games he has taken six wickets at 20.66, limping off the field during his last over against Chennai last Thursday.
